What an incredible journey it has been. As I reflect on my final week with you, my heart is incredibly full. Having had the privilege of serving as your Acting Principal for the past 10 weeks, I am leaving with a deep appreciation for just how amazing Kihikihi School truly is.
What an incredible journey it has been. As I reflect on my final week with you, my heart is incredibly full. Having had the privilege of serving as your Acting Principal for the past 10 weeks, I am leaving with a deep appreciation for just how amazing Kihikihi School truly is.
To our phenomenal Kihikihi Staff: I am profoundly grateful to each of you. Your professionalism, your tireless hard work, and your deep knowledge are the backbone of this school. Watching you dedicate yourselves to these students every day has been nothing short of inspiring. You all play a massive role in the success of our kura and you are all valued and appreciated for all the mahi you do.
To our School Board: Thank you for the tireless, often unseen mahi you do for our school. You are a powerful governing body, and your unique skills and aroha truly lay the framework that makes Kihikihi such a special place to thrive.
Personally, this journey has been transformative. My skills as a leader have been enhanced and refined by the amazing staff, students, and community of Kihikihi. Thank you for wrapping me in your korowai of care and aroha. Kihikihi will always hold a precious place in my heart, serving as the foundational bedrock for all my future leadership endeavours.
Sunny West will be back at the helm in Term 3 as I head back to the school I came from.
Important End-of-Term Notice: Student Reports
As we celebrate the learning and growth of our tamariki, please note that mid-year reports will be issued this Thursday:
- Rumaki: Reports will be sent home in paper form.
- Auraki: Reports will go live digitally on Hero.
A note for parents and caregivers: Please take some time to read through these reports together with your tamariki. Use this as a beautiful opportunity to talk with them about their hard work, their progress, and the incredible successes they have achieved so far this year.
Holiday Wishes & Returning for the New Term
I wish all of our whānau a happy, restful, and safe holiday break. If you are travelling over the coming weeks, please take extra care and stay safe on the roads.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for the start of the next term on Monday 20th July. We will begin our time together as a community with a whole school pōwhiri to welcome all of our new students and whānau.
