I am absolutely thrilled to be joining you as Acting Principal for Term 2. While I’ve only been here a short time, I have already been blown away by the incredible community spirit and the warm "Kihikihi welcome" I’ve received. It is truly a privilege to lead such a vibrant and heart-centered school.
It has been a wonderful start to the new term. A definite highlight for me was hosting our recent Parent/Teacher Conferences. It was a pleasure to meet so many whānau over those two nights. These conversations are vital, as they ensure we are all working together to support every child’s learning journey. If you were unable to make it, please don't worry—it is not too late to contact your tamaiti’s kaiako to arrange a time to meet.
We have an incredibly busy and exciting few weeks ahead of us:
- Week 3: Year 7 & 8 Vaccinations Our senior students will have their scheduled vaccinations this week.
- Thursday 7 May - 'Play it your way' activity morning for Neurodiverse.
- Friday 15 May: Pink Shirt Day We are proud to support this global movement to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness. Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink and bring a gold coin donation for the office. Let’s show that Kihikihi School is a safe, inclusive environment for everyone!
- Thursday 21 May: School Photos - Please ensure students are in their correct, clean school uniform for our annual school photos.
- Friday 22 May: PB4L Assembly This is a major highlight where we celebrate students who consistently demonstrate our Kihikihi School Values. Kaiako will notify you in advance if your student is receiving an award. Seeing our tamariki embody these values in the playground and the classroom is what makes our school community so special. We look forward to seeing many of you there to help us celebrate their success.
