Save the Date – Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on:
- Tuesday 28 April (school finishes early at 1.00pm)
- Wednesday 29 April (normal school day – 3.00pm finish)
On Tuesday, please ensure your tamaiti can either walk home or be collected at 1.00pm so we can begin conferences on time.
This year, all conference bookings will be made through the Hero app. Please make sure you are registered and able to access it. If you have any issues, come into the office and we will support you to get set up. Further information about Hero is included later in this newsletter.
Leadership Update – Term 2
From next week, I will be on sabbatical leave for the remainder of the term. During this time, Mark O'Brien will step into the role of Acting Principal.
This is a steadying role — there will be no major changes to staffing, systems, or current school projects. Our programmes, teaching and learning directions have already been carefully planned by our kaiako, and these will continue as intended. The focus remains on consistency, strong relationships, and quality teaching and learning for all ākonga.
Teaching & Learning Focus
This term, we continue our work unpacking and implementing the refreshed curriculum, building on what we already know and doing it well. Alongside this, we will celebrate the ongoing progress and success of our tamariki across all areas of learning.
We always welcome whānau involvement in kura life — whether that’s helping in classrooms, supporting events, or sharing your skills. Your presence strengthens our learning community.
Winter Readiness
As the weather begins to shift, please ensure your tamaiti comes to kura prepared with warm, weather-appropriate clothing.
We have KidsCan jackets and shoes available through the office. If your child needs support with winter items, please let us know as early as possible. Supplies can take time to arrive if we need to reorder.
Health & Safety Reminder
A clear and firm reminder: the bus bay is a no-parking zone at all times.
Parking there puts tamariki at unnecessary risk. Please use street parking, even if it means walking a short distance. Safety must come first — every time.
Staffing Update – Rumaki
We are pleased to welcome two new kaiako to our Rumaki team:
- Whaea Maddisyn Hollis – teaching in Kōkakō
- Whaea Mauricia – teaching in Kiwi
Please take the time to introduce yourself and make them feel welcome in our kura.
We’re looking forward to a positive and productive term ahead, grounded in strong learning, strong relationships, and high expectations for our tamariki.
